Linda LaMantia Selected Works: 2000-Present

Daphne Art Foundation invites the Laredo community to its newest exhibition Linda LaMantia, Selected Works: 2000-Present showcasing watercolor, acrylic paintings and pencil drawings. The exhibition opens to the public with an art reception on Friday, February 2 (Noche de Caminarte) at 7 p.m. at Casa Daphne, located at 1420 Washington Street.

Admission is free. This event is open to all.

"A painting can capture a moment, a feel- ing, an image in ways that a photo can- not. South Texas is filled with so many wonders and delights. I’m always in awe of the beauty that surrounds us, whether it be flowers or trees, animals or people, buildings or landscapes. I find inspiration in the everyday beauty of our surround- ings and am hopeful that I convey that beauty to others. I love to use vibrant col- ors in combination with lights and darks to create bold, bright, lively pieces, some- times with a bit of whimsy." - Linda LaMantia

Linda LaMantia is a civic leader and artist from Laredo, Texas. A graduate of Texas A&M in College Station, Linda is very involved in supporting and promoting the Arts and education. In conjunction with her family, Linda provides scholarships to students seeking to obtain their dream of a higher education. Linda is the Vice-President of the Daphne Art Foundation board of directors, and Vice-Chair of the Texas A&M PAC. She joined the Texas Cultural Trust Board of Directors in 2011 and serves on other local boards in Laredo.

Linda LaMantia, Selected Works: 2000-Present will be on view from January 19 through February 23, 2024.
